Client Care Specialists
Susie joined the VDS team in early 2017. Her extensive experience in customer service and healthcare helped to ease her transition to veterinary medicine. Susie grew up on Cape Cod but now lives in North Central Massachusetts. She’s part of a farming co-op and loves the fresh produce she gets every month. In fact, some day, Susie would like to own a farm herself. When she is not at VDS, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Cody, Porter, the Black Labrador Retriever, and Flint, the adorable domestic longhair cat.
Emily joined our team in 2018 after years of customer service in another office. While she enjoys customer service, it has always been her dream to work with animals. When a position at VDS became available, she knew it was the right fit and the best of both worlds. She graduated from Bay State College in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in business with a focus on fashion merchandising. She resides in Groton and enjoys spending her free time with her boyfriend Nick, her two cats, Waffles and Sabrina and her black lab, Hendrix.
Certified Veterinary Technicians
Kerri is our Head Technician and has been with us for over 10 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in wildlife management with a minor in marine biology from the University of New Hampshire in 1997. Three years later, she achieved certification as a veterinary technician while working at the Animal Rescue League of Boston. It was during these years that Kerri developed a strong interest in veterinary dentistry. We were elated to have Kerri join our team in 2007. Kerri does not currently have pets of her own but she enjoys spending time with her canine and feline “nieces” and “nephews”: Rudy, Penelope, Jax, Melaza and the newest family addition, Ziggy. We know it is only a matter of time before another four-legged creature steals her heart. Kerri is a lifelong resident of the North Shore and enjoys traveling, photography, kayaking, and art.
Michelle first came to VDS in 2015 as an intern from Mount Ida College’s veterinary technology program. She enjoyed her first rotation with us so much that she stayed for a second rotation. She then became a part of our family. Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a minor in English from Assumption College in 2007. After graduation, she worked as a senior support advisor for healthcare information systems. While working in the human healthcare industry, Michelle volunteered her spare time at the Shalit-Glazer Clinic MSPCA in Boston. She knew her future was with animals and thus returned to school at Mount Ida College. While studying Animal Science at Mount Ida, she participated in the Study Abroad program where she volunteered at spay and neuter clinics and provided medical treatment in Belize. Michelle lives in Bolton with her orange tabby, Fenway. In her spare time, she enjoys family game night, camping, kayaking, and hiking in the mountains.
Mandee first came to VDS as a veterinary technician intern from Mount Ida’s veterinary technology program in 2013. She stayed on as an intern for two rotations, and we liked her so much, we decided to ask her to join our team. In addition to her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology, she also has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Prior to her veterinary career, Mandee worked as an administrative assistant for a large assisted living community and also as an HR assistant for a construction company. She lives in Hudson with her four cats, three snakes, six chickens, and a guinea pig. In her spare time, Mandee enjoys creative writing, martial arts, and home improvement projects.
Tommy joined our team in 2015 with a well-rounded background. His veterinary career started in 2008 at a practice in New Mexico, where he developed an interest in veterinary dentistry. He earned his Bachelor of Science in animal science with a minor in chemistry in 2010 from New Mexico State University and an Associate in Applied Science in veterinary technology in 2011 from San Juan College. Tommy eventually found his way back to Massachusetts where he worked at Angell Animal Medical Center in oncology. He then returned to general practice where his love of dentistry continued to grow. She graduated from State University of New York-Canton with an Associate degree in Veterinary Science Technology in 2013. Kayla grew up locally in Stow, but now lives in Ayer with her fiancée Mark, her mixed breed dog Koga, and her dilute calico cat, Roxy. Hiking, camping, canoeing, swimming, listening to music, cuddling with her cat, and playing with her dog, are a few of the ways that Kayla likes to spend her free time.
Brina joined our team as a part-time employee in 2018. She is a 2014 graduate of Becker College where she earned a Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science.
